David here is reflecting on his life as a warrior and I think it is helpful for us also to reflect on our lives as we fight the good fight of faith.
Where Are You Looking?
Jesus alone has the power to see our journey through because he is the pioneer of our salvation. Look to him because he already endured the cross for you and has taken his seat at the Father's right hand. Look to him when you grow weary and fainthearted along the way and make your way toward your heavenly rest with new hope, not turning to the right or to the left.
Agree in the Lord
It takes a great deal of humility to defer to others, but it's what our Jesus calls us to do. After all, he showed the ultimate humility when he humbled himself, took on the form of a servant and went to the cross. He came not to be served but to serve and to give himself as a ransom for many.
So I call you, I call myself, I call all of us to "Agree in the Lord."
The Dwelling Place of God
Right now our technological solutions are how we make due, but if you feel that something's not quite right, you are certainly correct. What we're experiencing now is part of the disintegrating effects of the fall. It's not the way things ought to be. Let's look forward to a day when we will be reunited together in one place either here in Beavercreek or around his throne, reunited to worship and praise his great name.
Be Careful with the Data!
Elder's Note: Ethical Integrity
Surely there is untapped potential for evil lurking in every human heart and the news stories that we read should cause us to reflect on the state of our own hearts. They should remind us that apart from the work of the Lord Jesus Christ on the cross and his Spirit at work within us that we too would be lost in a sea of ethical confusion.
